Aetna Clinical Payment, Coding and Policy Changes

March 2019 ~

Aetna has issued two new updates to its clinical payment and coding policy positions, including the expansion of billable time units as well as claims editing capability changes.

The following clinical payment and coding policy changes will become effective on June 1, 2019:

• Claims Editing Capability

• • Expanded by adding new third-party claims edits.
  • Additional edits are scheduled to be made on June 1.

• Billable Time Units

• • Limited for unlisted or NOS (not otherwise specified) CPT^® and HCPCS codes to once per day.
