Anthem has posted its updated Assistant Surgeon policy and code list on June 1. According to the insurer, these changes are based on Current Procedural Terminology (CPT^®) and Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS Level II) coding changes for 2017 as well as updates based on American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the Centers Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) information.
